Research Activities
Our Centre supports a range of activities to develop research collaborations between New Zealand and China on non-communicable diseases (NCDs):
- New Zealand-China Non-Communicable Diseases Research Collaboration Forum
- Scholarship opportunities
- Emerging Researcher Travel Fellowship
Priority Research Areas
Our priority research areas are based on the main NCDs identified by the World Health Organisation as well as those of our partners in China and our areas of research strength:
- cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases
- cancer
- diabetes and obesity
- neuropsychiatric disorders and age-related diseases
- obstructive pulmonary emphysema
Cutting across these priority areas, we also encourage research focussing on modernisation of traditional medicine, big data and gene environment interactions.
